Storrs wood war Memorial

Storrs wood war Memorial

On Sunday the 8th of November I will be going to Pay my respects up at Stanington war memorial to remember my family members and all the other brave souls that gave their lives for us. After the service a good friend of ours Michele Ping who served in the Royal Navy will be joining us at the Storrs wood memorial to lay a poppy reef. Everybody is more than welcome to come down and join us at 12 o clock and afterwards you may all feel free to have a walk around the wood and view the artwork.

The Storrs wood war memorial was built back in 2013. The City council Commissioned Stoneface to carve the sculpture Remorse with the promise it would be positioned near the war memorial in Town. Sadly in the process of creating Remorse the location for her was changed for that of a rather hidden location. After all the time and emotion that went in to carving remorse and the feeling for those brave men and woman that have lost there lives fighting for us it would have been wrong to sit her on some back street for her to go unnoticed, So instead we decided to Give a Small piece of Storrs wood and turn it in to a memorial, It was the least we could do for those who gave there lives for us
